The Zapp Xtra is dusting off its passport because Quinny has put the travel back in the Zapp. While the original Quinny Zapp was one of our favorite travel strollers because of its compact fold, we had to revoke its travel privileges when the Zapp Xtra required us to remove the seat before folding. Sure they gave us a reversible seat but making us remove it to fold not only made it less compact but added an extra folding step that we just weren’t willing to do when we had a diaper bag, carry-on, crying baby and everything else that goes with traveling with kids. Removing the stroller seat was going to throw us over the edge and we know our limits.
So, one and a half years after debuting the Zapp Xtra, Quinny has made a huge change that put it back to the top of our travel must-have list. That’s right, they redesigned the Zapp Xtra to allow it to fold with the seat on AND we get to keep the reversible, reclining seat. (Annnnddd…the angels sing from above!)
Couple the newly redesigned Zapp Xtra with the fabulous Quinny Travel Bag and you have yourself a near perfect travel stroller.
Does it have its faults? Sure. The non-adjustable handles are shorter than we’d like for our taller parent friends, 39″ from ground to handles to be exact, the small basket doesn’t give us a lot of storage, and the peek-a-boo canopy panel doesn’t really let us see our child well. But those complaints are minor for such a lightweight, super easy to push, reversible seat stroller that happens to have one of the most compact folds in the world.
Plus, the seat is roomy, it has a deep recline (huge improvement over the original Zapp), the canopy is full coverage and the wheels pop off easily for even more compact storage.
