Disney Fantasy River Maneuver Brings it Closer to Maiden Voyage

Print Friendly

Here at Baby Gizmo we have been closely monitoring the progress of the newest Disney Cruise Ship, the Disney Fantasy, as it prepares for its maiden voyage on March 31st.

We told you a couple weeks ago how it floated out of its enclosed building dock in Germany for the first time and now we have video to share of the ship’s river maneuver that took place this past Friday. The Disney Fantasy bid farewell to the Meyer Werft shipyard and traveled 30 miles down the Ems River in a maneuver known as “conveyance.”

In this delicate and complex maneuver, the Disney Fantasy was pulled backwards by tugboats from the Meyer Werft shipyard down the winding Ems River to Eemshaven. This 48 second video is definitely worth a look-see just to see this huge ship floating on the narrow river.

This is just one more milestone as we help countdown to the Disney Fantasy’s maiden voyage at the end of March. To learn more about Disney Cruise Line or to book a vacation, visit disneycruise.com.
