Baby Jogger City Select Stroller Photos

I have heard from a few parents that are concerned about the seat size of the Baby Jogger City Select. You can see our testers in the seats in our video review but I thought I would take some actual photos to give you a good idea of how big the seat is. I tested the seat with a 6 month old, 3 year old and a 5 year old. Just so you know, here are the testers’ stats:
6 months: 18 lbs & 27 inches
3 Years old: 34 lbs & 36 inches
5 Years old: 41 lbs & 42 1/2 inches
Note: Our 5 year old tester is way past the “stroller age” and never rides in a stroller anymore. She walks!
But she was very cooperative to help us show what a child near the weight capacity of 45 lbs looked like in the stroller seat!

Don’t forget our full review (with video) of the Baby Jogger City Select:
UPDATE: Here are some additional pictures with a Graco Snugride and the toddler seat!

Excited to find out that our local retailer had the city select at the store for a demo, we raced down to the store to check it out. A big dissapointment for what we need. Since we have twins we though this would be the perfect solution. After a closer look, we decided that the configuration is way to cramped for two. I can just picture one twin kicking the other.
Bottom line, we will go with a side by side. Maybe a baby jogger, maybe a bumbleride.
Sold my Phil and Ted and purchased this for my 2.5 year old and 11 month old. I absolutely LOVE everything about it! I have owned many strollers and this is by far my favorite!!
I heard that Baby Jogger was developing a car seat attachment for the Chicco Key Fit car seat. Has that been released yet? If not, when is it expected to release and can you use two car seat adapters at the same time or are you limited to one car seat only with this stroller.
Many thanks,
Nancy (mother to 11 month old twins!)
Hi Nancy,
I’m not sure when the Chicco adapter will be available. But yes, you can use two infant car seats at the same time with the Baby Jogger City Select!

Do you know if the quality of the bassinet (in particular, the mattress) is good enough to be used as a bassinet at home (i.e. at night for the first few months)? We haven’t been able to see and feel one in a store yet. Also, what is your opinion in terms of the need for a bassinet vs. the car seat? Thanks for your help!
Hi Hollie – thanks for the review, it helped a lot. We bought the City Select because we have a two year old and another one the way… so far we love it! However, we got the car seat attachment to use with our Graco Snugride, and it doesn’t seem to attach very securely. What was your experience in taking the photos above? Am I doing something wrong, or was it wobbly for you too? Thanks!
Hi Mike,
As far as I can remember, the Graco Snugride was a bit wobbly on the City Select. Not wobbly enough to be dangerous – but wasn’t rock solid on the stroller.

How does this thing fold in double mode?
We’re thinking about getting it when #2 arrives so our then 2 year old can ride along with the baby still in his/her carseat (Maxi Cosi). I realize it should fold fine when the carseat is removed with one seat attached, but what about when both seats are attached? Does it have to come completely apart?
I really love my Maxi Cosi Pearle stroller and I’m sick that I’m already stroller shopping again!! It was a dream stroller for one child (light, compact, maneuverable, posh looking, carseat adaptable… sigh!).
Maybe what I should have asked is this (after looking at the pictures a little closer… sorry): How does it fit in double mode when folded? Does it still fold one handed in double mode? I’d love to see that in action… maybe I need to find it in a store near my house and take this bad boy for a spin!
What infant car seat fitst the best with this stroller? I see that the Greco is a bit wobbly
I think the Maxi Cosi Mico works very well with the City Select. It fits on the car seat adapters very well. Very sturdy.
Did you try the peg perego with the city select? If so, how did it work? Do you think any of the car seats can be used with the toddler seat facing forward and in front on highest canopy setting? If so, which one? Thanks!!
I just got the city select with the 2nd seat and I love it. I was nervous about the seat being too small for my 2 yr old, b/c many reviews said the seat was small. But my 2 yr old fits in it very well and he has more than enough room with room to grow. I love it and it drives very smoothly and is the best stroller.
Your pictures were a BIG help! I was trying to figure out the best layout for the Graco Snugride + toddler seat. The baby jogger website and city select manual do a poor job of showing the different configurations, so thanks much for the pics!
For those using the Graco Snugride, I just checked mine and it is indeed rock solid, with the carseat on top and the toddler seat below. I adjusted the “T” bar and straps a few times to get the fit just right, but when the straps are attached it’s not wobbly at all for me. Just be sure that you adjust everything a bit, and that the black bars fit under the carseat properly. it takes a little time, but you can make it solid.
The issue that I’m now having is that with the toddler seat in the lower position, facing forward, I really have to SQUEEZE the toddler seat in with the canopy on (lowest position). I’m wondering if the new snugrides are slightly longer than the one in your pic? you seem to have plenty of room, but mine is incredibly tight, so much that it’s hard to put the carseat on the stroller.
Thanks for pics. Very big help!! One question: The pic with both seats attached and folded….how were the seats set up before you folded it? Thanks!
The seats were both facing out (away from mom!).
looking to test out a city select..does anyone know what stores have them in stock?
Thanks for the review. Just curious about the Maxi Cosi seat – you said that one fits the best with the adapter. The instructions that come with the adapter list 2 models of the Maxi Cosi – do they both work well with the adapter, or is one better than the other?
Thanks!
Bergstroms in Irvine and Anaheim, California have this stroller to demo and they have all the colors on the showroom. They also have GREAT prices for this stroller in the store. (More than 100 less than Internet prices!)
Has anyone found the city select to be wobbly with just one toddler in it. We bought it last week, used it once, and now today when we used it, if feels like it has a slight shimmy and I cant find out what the problem is? Anyone else experience this and trouble shoot?
I have been using the City Select with the Mico Maxi Cosi car seats since I got my stroller in January and I LOVE IT! The car seats are easy to snap in and take out of the frame and very sturdy when attached.
I recently started using the seats for my twin boys and am having fun playing around with the different configurations. THANK YOU for posting the picture and details of how to fold the fram with both seats attached — I had some trouble figuring out how to do that without removing the seats.
I am from Maui/Hawaii and finding a good stroller that is actually worth the price not just the look is hard to come by. Just so happen 8 months pregnant we found the baby jogger city select at a tiny place in town. After visiting and trying it out maybe about 5 tmes in store with my daughter (1 yr old)who abosolutly loves it because as a single it is higher up rather than lower as usual umbrella stroller etc. We did buy he second seat and the -multi- adapter (NOT CHICCO) without actually trying them out first… Luckily when time did come 4 it 2 finally be shipped in n broken in, it was awesome as I babysitted my bothers son who is 1 month older than my daughter who is VERY SELFISH and PUSHY as I might add, I could turn them away and kept both happy as their mood changed so did their seats lol : ) sad but true… When time to get a car seat….boy oh boy was it a hastle especially beacuse of the little variety maui has to offer.( I tried the Britax Companion-Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP-Graco SnugRide
-Evenflo Embrace and the Eddie Bauer Adventure which i thought was definetly not the way to go beacause it semed as if they would tip forward) Buying a carseat without trying it was my ONLY choice because of the variety the stroller adapter had to choose from and the variety maui has…MANY DAYS AND NIGHTS OF RESEARCH ONLINE and I came to the conclusion that the MAXI COSI MICO would be the one. Whe I got it in i was so excited to try ti out being I didn want something unstable or hard to maneuver. It was light and when i attached it to the adapter i was easy and popped right in… THANK GOD FOR THE MAXI COSI MICO my 22month old and my 1 month old fit perfectly, what a good choice and a pat on the back 4 me being the hubby didnt want 2 spend the money w/ o trying it 1st…hah another success!
I have twins and have been using 2 Chicco adapters. I LOVE this stroller! It is so easy to push one handed (my babies are each about 13 pounds), easy to fold, the basket is wonderful too. I love it!
when using the bassinet, does the other child have place for his legs?
I am expecting twins and I was just wondering when you have the two seats attached, can they both fully recline for two sleeping infants/toddlers? or are you stuck with up right seats?
Hi, I am just wondering if you could estimate about how high the car seat is when in the top position? I am only tiny (4’9) and i’m worried i am not going to be able to see over the capsule. My local store does not have the car seat attachment in stock so I cannot test
Thank you soooo much!! I have been trying to find a review like this forever! I’ve postponed buying this stroller just because I wasn’t sure how my toddler and future baby (TTC) will fit. This is perfect, thanks. XOXO -Brittany
I was wondering with your 3 year old sitting in the seat is the canopy in the highest setting and is the leg rest fully extended?
Next month I will have a new born and a 3 1/2 year old. The 3 1/2 year old is 40 lbs. and 40 inches tall, so he looks to be about the size of the 5 year old above. Will he be short on leg room? Would it be better to get a stroller with a ride behind platform like the uppababy vista?
Hi Jennifer, Your 3 1/2 year old may be short on leg room in the City Select. If you don’t think your 3 year old is going to sit and ride all the time, a stand-on board maybe a better option. This is only a good option if you think your child will want to stand and ride or walk more often than sitting in the stroller. – Hollie
Hollie, thanks for the input. I think the stand-on board may be a better option because my 3 1/2 year old will probably hit 45 lb. weight limit on the 2nd City Select seat. Do you have any feedback on which stroller has the best stand-on board, BJ City Select, Uppa Baby Vista, or Valco Tri-mode? I am 5’10″, so I am worried about kicking it all of the time.
Just out of curiosity, Can a toddler who is sitting in the front seat (furthest seat from mom) reach the front wheels? Looking at the pictures it looks like the child in the front seat might be low enough to touch the wheels!?
One question, is this sturdy enough to be used on trails? I’m not a runner but I do power walk on pretty flat but sometimes bumpy trails for exercise. What do you think?
It would just okay. Yes, just okay. It’s not an all-terrain stroller so it isn’t going to handle trails (flat or bumpy) like an all-terrain such as a BOB, Mountain Buggy, Valco Baby or even a Bumbleride could.
Hi Holly,
thanks for all your great reviews! Just wondering if you have the details of the dimensions of the Baby Jogger City Select Bassinet kit once assembled on the frame? Lenght x Width(on the inside) x Height?
DS1 was a big bugs and DS2 is already measuring big in utero so I want to know whether its worth purchasing the bassinet kit.
I have googled and googled and cannot find these dimensions anywhere on the net. Thanks!
Hi Hollie, thank you SO much for this review!! After looking at it ive bought one!!! Its being delivered in a few days and I cant wait! xxx
I don’t understand how you were able to fold the footrest to such an angle in the pictures of your select folded with the seat on. I see that the seat has to be on the highest level to fold it with the one seat on. But my footrest doesn’t seem to fold back enough to get as small as your pictures show. Am I missing something?
Once again, can a toddler in the furthest seat from mom touch the front wheels?
I was wondering if the 2011 baby jogger city select seats fit on the the 2010 frame? I hear they are making the seats a bit bigger for the 2011. Just curious if I could put a bigger 2011 seat on my 2010 frame?
Hi, I thought somewhere on here I saw pictures of the difference between the 2010 and 2011 seats on the city select. Do you know where that was?
I have two month old twins and two graco car seats. we were out strolling yesterday and I was going up onto a sidewalk with small bump and both car seats flipped foward. both babies were securely fastened so they didn’t fall out but were basically facing the ground. Any experiences with this? Not sure what happened. About to return teh whole stroller if this can’t be fixed. Not safe at all. Thanks.
Holy cow, Aly! I’m not sure what would have happened. I would contact Baby Jogger for sure!! Glad the babies were okay! -Hollie
We’ve been researching this stroller and comparing it to many other in it’s class. Our son is now 4 weeks old, and we definitely plan on more additions to our family, so this stroller seems to fit the bill. Big question though, both of us parents are quite tall, stands to reason that this little guy will also be tall (was 21 inches at birth).
I am reading conflicting opinions about the length of the CS seats and the height of the canopy. Can somebody please weigh in on this?
I have the Graco baby carseat too, and it really does not fit well with the Baby Jogger, even with the correct car seat adaptor. I can see what happened with Aly happening with us, so I have not used the car seat with this stroller. The adaptor doesn’t allow for the car seat to snap on, so the attachment is very loose. Thankfully, my baby is now a year old so I don’t carry her everywhere in the car seat anymore, but I did want to continue using the car seat for the next baby. Unfortunately, Graco just doesn’t fit correctly into the Baby Jogger… the only negative thing about this stroller for me (so far).
Hi..do you have a picture of two kids facing one another that you could send me? That’d be great..or any info you can tell me about the facing is good too? thanks so much, Mandai
Please Help!! I am expecting in one month, so I will have a newborn and a 2.5 year old boy 34″ x 34lbs I need a double stroller and am interested in the Baby jogger city select, Peg Perego skate with toddler seat, and Uppa baby vista with rumble seat. I want to be able to use the carseat for the infant in the configuration. Major use will be shopping and neighborhood walks. My question of the above has the smallest footprint or feels least bulky? Which is the best push with two kids (smooth vrs neighborhood walk)?
I don’t have access to these in person except the baby jogger and I was impressed, but can’t compare them. ( I sold my phil and teds dash because it was hard to push loaded down with two heavy boys and didn’t perform well as a mall stroller. It felt like to turn it it had to be moved forward or backward first which made it difficult in small spaces and hurt my wrists.) Thanks so much!
I see you have the SnugRide seat. I think thats the SnugRide 30, right?
Does that one just click in like the Maxi Cosi? Or how does it attach to the CityJogger? I dont want to fiddle with straps every time I move to the stroller.
Ok, so what I discovered (for baby trend) was that after you assemble the baby seat attachment, the seat belt (secure belt) attachment.. runs cross the baby trend seat, via the slots in the baby seat handle area (you have to have baby seat handle half way up), for the best results. For the longest, I was just taking the belt attachment right over the seat, this did not work. I hope this helps and makes since….
Anyone try the City Select with the Peg Perego? I tried the City Elite double with the car seat adapter and was very disappointed. The car seat was very wobbly. Is it any better with the City Select? Being able to use my car seat with the stroller is a big feature for me.
Hollie,
I am also wondering the same thing as Mom of almost 3! While I am only getting ready for my first child, I have had some fertility challenges and think it is likely we will have our children very close together. In anticipation of this, I am looking for a single stroller that can be converted to an in-line double. I’d like something that looks trendy but is well-made, safe and sturdy, is easy to push and not too heavy, has a decent amount of space for both kids as well as some storage space. Also, folding the stroller down as a double is important b/c I don’t live in the city and would be using it to run errands, go to the mall or park, church, etc. After comparing the Baby Jogger City Select, the Peg Perego Skate, the UPPABaby Vista, the Mutsy 4Rider, and the iCandy Apple-to-Pear and Peach-to-Peach Blossom (did I miss any?) and watching all of your review videos, I think I have narrowed it down to the BJ City Select and the UPPABaby Vista.
In double mode both the Musty 4Rider and iCandy strollers require that both seats and adaptor come off before the stroller can be folded up, which is quite a chore. You said in another review that you would recommend the UPPABaby over the Skate, so I ruled that one out. Hollie, what would you recommend when comparing the BJ City Select to the UPPABaby? The BJ looks like it has a lot more room for 2 kids and has a lot more configuration options with both seats having a large weight capacity. Two concerns I have are the car seat adaptor issues people have been having, and the bar that connects the back wheels. My husband is tall with a long stride…do you think it would be a problem kicking it when walking? My main concern with the UPPABaby is the RumbleSeat…on the video it looks like there isn’t a lot of space between seats and there aren’t nearly as many configuration options. Also, a lot of the storage space is taken up by little feet. What are your thoughts?
