Britax Introduces New Chaperone Travel System

We are very excited that Britax has announced the Chaperone™ Travel Collection — a new infant carrier and stroller designed with advanced safety and ease-of-use features!  The new Chaperone Infant Car Seat will replace the recently retired Britax Companion infant car seat and will not only work seemlessly with the new Chaperone Stroller but also with other major manufacturer’s strollers. 

The Chaperone infant carrier features Britax True Side Impact Protection® and can accommodate children between 4 and 30 pounds up to 32 inches. The Chaperone infant carrier offers a number of industry-leading safety features that help absorb energy in a crash and protect the child. An anti-rebound bar minimizes secondary rotational crash forces from a frontal impact, which is the most common type of crash. Additionally, Britax’s revolutionary True Side Impact Protection — a combination of deep side walls and head wings made from energy-absorbent material and an adjustable head — provides advanced protection in side impact collisions. The infant carrier includes a non-rethread five-point adjustable harness, which alleviates the need for parents to disassemble the harness system each time they adjust the harness to accommodate their child’s growth. An ergonomic handle is shaped to allow a more natural and comfortable carrying position with less strain on wrists and forearms. Premium push-button LATCH connectors also allow for quick, reliable installation.

The infant carrier works seamlessly with the new Chaperone stroller, providing parents with superior convenience and style.  The stroller offers a smart, one-hand design that makes it easy to fold flat and stand once folded for simple storage.  It also includes a one-foot brake operation, an adjustable height handle designed for one- or two-hand pushing and extra large storage compartments. A recline allows children to sleep comfortably and an oversized canopy — included on both the infant carrier and stroller — protects baby’s sensitive skin from harmful UV rays. The stroller has deep cup holders designed to prevent spills for parents and a contoured child tray developed to help small hands pick up toys or food. 

The Chaperone infant carrier and stroller come in four fashions. The Chaperone infant carrier (SRP: $229.99) will be available in independent and mass retailers in June 2009; the stroller (SRP: $299.99) starting in August 2009.  A single adapter strap will be available to allow the Chaperone stroller to be used with other major manufacturer’s infant carriers. The strap will also allow the Chaperone infant carrier to be used in other major manufacturer’s strollers.
