Uppa Baby Vista Rumbleseat

ABC Kids Expo News

Uppa Baby RumbleseatLove the luxury stroller systems but wonder what to do when baby #2 comes along?  Many of the high end strollers companies don’t have a double stroller option to accommodate two children.  Uppa Baby was one of those companies…until now.  Well, until March 2009.

We are excited to report that Uppa Baby is coming out with their Rumbleseat which allows you to convert your VISTA stroller into a compact rear-facing tandem. This all-aluminum frame seat, complete with 5-point harness, attaches in seconds to all 2009 Uppa Baby Vista Strollers.

What I loved about the Rumbleseat, as opposed to other seats similar to this on the market, is that it sits up higher on the frame away from the wheels.  Now, I haven’t been able to test the seat out with different size children yet, but from what I saw at the ABC Kids Expo, the child in the Rumbleseat should not be able to touch the wheels.  Love that! (No need for wheel guards!) Plus, the Rumbleseat placement and the stroller’s weight seems to prevent the entire stroller from tipping backwards if a child tries to climb in.  This isn’t the case on other similar seats out there.

Uppa Baby RumbleseatThe Rumbleseat is a great option that gives the VISTA even more versatility.  You can use the adapters with an infant car seat and have the Rumbleseat attached to let your newborn and toddler take a ride.  If you have well-behaved kids, you could even reverse the toddler seat and have it face the Rumbleseat so your children can face each other.  I repeat, if you have well-behaved kids, because I could imagine quite a bit of kicking going on with my kids with this set-up.

Plus, the Rumbleseat combined with Uppa Baby’s piggyBack (stroller board for older brothers and sisters) can accommodate three kids.

The Rumbleseat will probably be available in March 2009.  We will keep you updated and post a full editor review along with a video review of the Uppa Baby Vista 2009 with the Rumbleseat as soon as they start releasing them.

xoxo

Hello – I really like the the UPPA Baby Stroller in general but now I am looking for a compact version of a stroller that can accommodate 2 children. I got the Zooper Waltz for my baby shower. I love that it’s so light but I’m frustrated with the basket. It’s very small. My daughter is 1 year old and I’m due with our 2nd in June. I’m a tall person so walking without hitting the back of the stroller or wheels is a must have. Question; How much room is there in the basket with the Rumble Seat attached and little feet have no other place to go? What’s the weight capacity for the Rumble Seat and does the seat sit upright? I’ve heard other parents say they need to put a pillow behind their child because the seat doesn’t sit up enough. The child ends up pulling on the bar in the front to see out. Thanks!

Will the Rumbleseat be backward compatible with the 2008 Vista? Thanks!

No, according to Uppa Baby, the Rumbleseat only attaches to the 2009 model.

Not true… UppaBaby’s site states they have a retro fit conversion that allows you to use the Rumble Seat on earlier models.

    Hi Christina,
You are absolutely right! I believe I left that comment before the stroller came out and Uppa Baby announced their Retro-Fit Frame program so that the Rumbleseat would fit on older models!
