Ever wonder why the Baby Jogger double strollers are not compatible with infant car seats? Well, Baby Jogger was listening and has designed a great adapter that will work on all their 2008 & 2009 double strollers. This patented adapter is positioned on a locking slide to prevent tipping when only the car seat is in use.
Here’s how it works: When using an infant car seat on the double stroller and the second seat is empty (the older child wants to walk), the car seat can slide on the adapter bar to the middle of the stroller for stability.
This will put the weight of the car seat over the center of the stroller to avoid any tipping possibility and improve maneuverability. The adapter bar for the Baby Jogger doubles has been designed to fit several popular car seats.
The only downside is that the double adapter bar will not be available until early Spring 2009. We will definitely keep you updated when this great new accessory to the Baby Jogger line will be available.

BJ says they have started shipping them to retailers now (2/2009) and I’ve seen some websites letting you buy them for shipment the first week of March 2009.
